Setting up a gazer

Add a gazer

You can add a gazer on the web application easily.

  1. Go to the Gazers section
  2. Click on Add Gazer button
  3. Set a name for the gazer and enter the URL
  4. Click Add Gazer

When you add a gazer, you see a gaze result in no more than 5 minutes on the free plan. It takes under 1 minute on the paid plans.

Update a gazer

You can update an existing gazer on the Gazers section.

  1. Choose the gazer you want to update from the sidebar on the Gazers section
  2. Click on Edit Gazer
  3. Make the changes and click on Save Gazer

An update regarding the new URL will be applied on the next gaze. You see a name change instantaneously on the web application.

Delete a gazer

You can delete a gazer on the Gazers section.

  1. Choose the gazer you want to delete from the sidebar on the Gazers section
  2. Click on Delete
  3. Click on Delete again
All monitoring data is deleted from the database once you delete a gazer. If you are not sure, do not delete the gazer. You can disable the notifications by deleting any alert assigned to this gazer.

Review gazer results

We visualize the results collected on two different occasions. You can see a general overview of the performance of a gazer on the Gazers section. When you click on the gazer you want to analyze, you can see the basic metrics.

You can review the information on different tabs for the time duration of your choice. The time duration is set to last 24 hours by default. You can change it from the Display dropdown list.

Detailed reports can be seen on the Gazers sections.

  1. Choose the gazer you want to see details from the sidebar on the Gazers section
  2. Click on View Reports

On the Overview tab, you can see the performance metrics of the gazer.

  • uptime
  • downtime
  • number of incidents
  • average, highest and lowest latency

You can review the breakdown of response times on the Response Times graph.

The breakdown of response times such as name lookup, handshake and first byte is only available on Growth and Premium plans.

On the Incidents tab, registered incidents are listed with date and cause information.

On the Gazes tab, you can see the whole list of the requests for this gazer with the response and the latency information.
